Incident Overview
An aircraft landed on the south part of runway 18/36, which was closed to traffic due to maintenance. At the time, only runway 09/27 was available for use. The surface on the south part of the closed runway had been removed, leaving a two-meter-deep trench in the center.
Sequence of Events
For reasons that remain unknown—possibly poor flight preparation, misunderstanding, or poor crew coordination—the aircraft touched down on the closed portion of runway 18/36. As the aircraft rolled over the center of the runway, it struck the trench. The impact caused the left main landing gear to collapse, and the aircraft subsequently came to rest on its belly.
Damage and Casualties
There were no casualties reported as a result of the incident. However, the aircraft sustained substantial damage and was written off.
Runway Status
Runway 18/36 had been closed for maintenance, with the south part's surface removed. Only runway 09/27 was available for traffic, but the aircraft did not use it.
