A military aircraft crashed into a wooded area near Rechitsa after an engine failure during a return flight, resulting in five fatalities and one survivor.

What happened

The incident occurred while the crew was returning to their base after completing a supply mission. The aircraft had been delivering supplies to soldiers stationed at airstrip number 17 in the region of Rechitsa. Approximately thirty minutes into the return leg, an engine failed. The captain decided to attempt a return to the airfield from which they had departed. However, the aircraft began to lose altitude and ultimately struck trees before crashing into a wooded area.

Findings

The crash resulted in significant loss of life among the personnel on board. Five crew members were killed in the accident. The sixth occupant survived the impact without injury. Official investigations identified engine failure as the primary cause of the event.
