What happened
During the initial climb phase following departure from Bogotá-El Dorado Airport, the crew of the aircraft encountered significant mechanical issues. Specifically, one of the engines experienced a loss of power, making it impossible for the flight to reach its intended altitude.
In response to the technical failure, the crew initiated an emergency descent and attempted to land the plane in a prairie area. The aircraft eventually crashed approximately 9 km southwest of the airport, near the La Libertad suburb. While the aircraft sustained damage that rendered it beyond repair, there were no fatalities or injuries among the three occupants.
Findings
Investigations into the incident identified the primary factor as a loss of power in one engine, though the specific underlying reason for this failure remained undetermined.
