What happened
On May 5, an aircraft was performing a descent toward Caracas-Maiquetía-Simón Bolívar airport. While flying at an altitude of 5,000 feet during periods of marginal weather, the aircraft impacted trees on a mountain slope. The accident occurred in the vicinity of the village of El Cedrito, situated approximately 29 km southwest of the destination airport.
Search efforts located the wreckage on the morning of May 7. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were five fatalities among the occupants, with no survivors reported.
