What happened
On a night-time positioning flight originating from Mirny, a four-engine aircraft was traveling toward Chita with a scheduled stop in Irkutsk. The flight was being conducted on behalf of the Russian Ministry of the following Interior and was carrying a total of eleven people, consisting of seven crew members and four passengers.
Less than one minute after departing the runway, the aircraft experienced a severe loss of control. Specifically, the plane rolled to the right until it reached a 90-degree angle. The aircraft continued its descent and struck the ground at a speed of 364 km/h, approximately 1,893 metres beyond the end of the runway. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the airframe. There were 11 fatalities recorded, as all occupants on board perished in the crash.
