What happened
On January 16, 2025, at approximately 12:45 UTC, a Cessna 152 II, registration LV-BRG, was involved in a runway excursion at Morón Aerodrome in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The flight was part of a local flight training session conducted under visual meteorological conditions (VMC) with calm winds.
The flight began at 12:30 UTC as a dual instruction flight with an instructor on board. Following the initial phase of the flight, the student pilot proceeded to perform their first solo flight. During the landing phase of this solo operation, the aircraft veered off the runway.
There were no injuries reported for the student pilot, who was able to exit the aircraft on their own. The aircraft sustained no damage during the incident.

The Argentine Transportation Safety Board (JST) examined the circumstances surrounding the landing of the Cessna 152 II. The investigation focused on the transition from the instructional phase to the student's first solo flight and the subsequent landing maneuver at Morón Aerodrome.
