A three-engine cargo aircraft vanished while flying from Vitória to Rio de Janeiro during a period of adverse weather.

What happened

During a scheduled cargo operation traveling from Vitória toward Rio de Janeiro, a three-engine aircraft disappeared under uncertain conditions. Between 16:00 and 17:00 local time, the flight was observed operating within an area of poor weather located near the municipalities of Araruama, Saquarema, and Maricá.

Following this sighting, all contact with the aircraft was lost. Search efforts were unable to locate any wreckage or debris, and there is no information regarding the status of the crew. Due to the lack of physical evidence, investigators have noted the possibility that the aircraft impacted the ocean surface off the coast of Maricá.
