Accident Overview
An aircraft on a routine flight initiated an instrument landing system (ILS) approach to runway 01 at Posadas-Libertador General José San Martín Airport. During the approach, the crew determined the aircraft was too high on the glide path, prompting the captain to abort the approach and execute a go-around.
Subsequent Approach and Impact
After the go-around, the crew attempted a visual approach to runway 19. On final approach, the crew failed to recognize that the aircraft's altitude was too low. The aircraft subsequently struck the water surface and crashed into the Paraná River, just a few hundred meters offshore.
Casualties and Damage
The accident resulted in the deaths of two passengers. Five other occupants sustained injuries. The aircraft was destroyed upon impact with the water.
