What happened
On the morning of the accident, a twin-engine aircraft departed from Manila-Ninoy Aquino Airport at 08:34 local time, with a scheduled arrival at Cauayan Airport at 09:40. During the flight, the crew provided updates to air traffic control, noting their position approximately 96 km from their destination at 09:19. Due to the presence of favorable winds, the captain updated the estimated time of arrival to 09:37.
At 09:30, while operating within cloud cover, the aircraft collided with a mountain slope situated near Kasibu, roughly 77 km southwest of Cauayan Airport. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were 17 fatalities and no survivors among the occupants.
