What happened
An aviation accident occurred at Abéché Airport when an aircraft crashed while attempting to land. The aircraft overran the runway, coming to a stop approximately 200 metres beyond the end of the airstrip. Following the impact, the aircraft caught fire and was completely destroyed. The incident took place at 18:30 local time, which was 30 minutes after the airport had officially closed for the day.
As a result of the crash, there were at least five fatalities among the passengers. Additionally, several other individuals sustained injuries during the event.
