What happened
A special United Nations flight traveling from Kamina to Kigoma, Tanzania, via Manono, DRC, was involved in an accident during its approach to runway 16. While attempting to land at the intermediate stop in Manono, the pilot executed a go-around maneuver for unspecified reasons. During the subsequent second attempt to land, the aircraft descended beneath the established glide path. The aircraft impacted the ground approximately 300 meters before reaching the runway threshold. The impact was followed by a post-crash fire that consumed the airframe.
