What happened
A commercial flight departing from Guadalajara Airport for its destination in Mexico City ended in a fatal accident during the early stages of flight. The aircraft was operating a scheduled service and was carrying a total of 45 people, consisting of 38 passengers and 7 crew members.
During the departure phase, the aircraft failed to adhere to the prescribed climb-out protocols. At roughly 22:06 local time, the plane struck La Latilla mountain. The impact occurred approximately 13 km west of the Guadalajara Airport radio beacon. There were 45 fatalities as all individuals on board perished in the crash.
Findings
Investigations into the accident determined that the primary factor was a deviation from established flight paths. Specifically, the aircraft failed to follow the approved climb-out procedures as outlined in the relevant Airports Manual.
