The mission involved transporting a passenger from the landing site to Samara. The aircraft, registration RA-01927, departed from the Kazan airport base at 03:56.
Prior to departure, the helicopter's takeoff weight was approximately 1725 kg, which was within the maximum takeoff weight limit of 2268 kg. The center of gravity was calculated at 3223.8 mm, falling within the permissible range of 3023 mm to 3277 mm specified in the flight manual.
The pilot-in-command did not receive official weather information from the Kazan airport weather service before the flight. Approximately four minutes after takeoff, the pilot reported to air traffic control that he had information regarding GAMET zero values for Kazan and Samara, while simultaneously reporting actual conditions of light southern winds and visibility between 7 and 8 km.
The pilot did not undergo a medical examination at Kazan airport before the flight, instead making a personal decision regarding fitness for duty. The accident resulted in one fatality.
