What happened
Following departure from Witchai Lake, the single engine airplane began a left-hand maneuver. During this turn, the aircraft experienced an aerodynamic stall. The plane subsequently impacted the surface of the lake.
In the aftermath of the impact, emergency responders located the occupants of the aircraft. While the pilot was successfully rescued from the wreckage, the passenger succumbed to drowning.
Findings
- The accident occurred during the initial climb phase following takeoff.
- The primary factor leading to the crash was an aerodynamic stall during a turning maneuver.
