What happened
During a nighttime flight operating from Beira toward Lourenço Marques, the flight crew experienced unexpected mechanical issues while in the cruise phase of the journey. Due to these complications, the decision was made to divert from the original flight path to perform an emergency descent.
The aircraft successfully executed a belly landing on a beach situated at Praia Sepúlverda, which is located south of Xai-Xai. Although the impact resulted in the aircraft being damaged beyond repair, there were no casualties during the event. All 15 occupants on board managed to evacuate the plane and sustained zero injuries.
