A three-engine aircraft crashed into a mountainside while approaching Torino in foggy conditions, resulting in the deaths of all seven people on board.

What happened

The incident involved a three-engine airplane operating a scheduled service from Milan to Torino. The flight carried four passengers and three crew members. As the aircraft approached the destination from the northwest, the crew established contact with air traffic control at Torino Airport. During this communication, they reported experiencing poor visibility due to foggy weather conditions.

Following these reports, the aircraft impacted the slope of Mt Basso, situated 36 km west of the airport. Search and recovery teams located the wreckage approximately 300 metres below the mountain's summit. The crash resulted in seven fatalities, encompassing all individuals on board.
