What happened
On the afternoon of the incident, an aircraft departed Tavildara at 1347 local time. The flight was a scheduled mail run bound for Jirgatal, carrying a single crew member and a cargo load of 110 kg of mail. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot deviated from the established airway and entered a narrow valley. After traveling approximately 10 kilometers within this terrain, the pilot attempted to turn back. During a sharp left bank at an altitude estimated between 25 and 30 meters, the aircraft lost lift and stalled. The plane subsequently impacted the slope of Mt Yafush.
Findings
The official investigation concluded that the accident resulted from a failure to adhere to published operating procedures. Specifically, the pilot chose to navigate through a narrow valley rather than maintaining the normal route to Jirgatal. This deviation led to a low-altitude maneuver where the aircraft stalled before impact. The pilot was killed in the crash.
