Introduction
An aircraft operating a flight from Tyumen-Plekhanovo Airport experienced an engine failure during cruise, leading to a crash in a wooded area. All four occupants sustained injuries.
Flight Sequence
The flight departed from Tyumen-Plekhanovo Airport. Twenty-two minutes after takeoff, while cruising at an altitude of 200 meters, the engine lost power and the aircraft began to lose height. The crew attempted to restart the engine but was unsuccessful.
Accident
Following the loss of engine power, the airplane struck trees and subsequently crashed in a wooded area. All four occupants were injured in the accident.
Probable Cause
The official investigation determined that the probable cause of the accident was the internal destruction of the engine due to fatigue peeling of the nitrided layer and subsequent destruction of the teeth of the fixed gear wheel.
