What happened
During a series of crop-spraying missions for the Obilny state farm located in the Adamovka district of the Orenburg region, an aviation accident occurred. While performing agricultural duties, the pilot executed an unapproved maneuver at a low altitude, which led to a loss of control of the aircraft. The plane subsequently crashed approximately 5 kilometers east of the administrative headquarters of the farm.
There were two fatalities in the accident, involving both the pilot and a single passenger, who was identified as an aircraft mechanic.
Findings
Investigations into the crash revealed that the crew members were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Specifically, testing indicated that the pilot had a blood alcohol concentration of 3‰, while the passenger's level was measured at 0.8‰. The investigation concluded that the pilot's intoxication was the primary factor leading to the loss of control during the low-altitude maneuver.
