What happened
While conducting agricultural spraying operations for the Relyevski state farm, an aircraft was involved in a fatal accident near Chamzinka in the Mordoviya region. During this period, the pilot initiated an unauthorized flight for recreational purposes accompanied by several members of the local police force.
During the flight, the pilot executed an illegal maneuver at a very low altitude. This action caused the left wing of the aircraft to strike a telephone line pole located near Chamzinka. The impact resulted in the aircraft flipping over and crashing upside down.
As a result of the crash, there were five fatalities, including the pilot and four passengers. One individual survived the accident but sustained serious injuries.
Findings
Investigations into the crash determined that the primary factor contributing to the accident was that the pilot was intoxicated while operating the aircraft.
