What happened
During an agricultural spraying operation, the crew was performing a series of local missions. After completing two successful sorties, the aircraft returned to the farm to replenish its supply of fertilizers and fuel. The flight departed for a third mission at 11:18 local time.
Approximately seventeen minutes into this third sortie, the aircraft was operating at an altitude of roughly 50 meters. While the crew was executing a turn to the right, the plane struck a bird. The bird entered the carburetor air intake, which resulted in an immediate loss of engine power. Following the engine failure, the aircraft descended rapidly and struck a road, where it subsequently caught fire. The accident resulted in one fatality and one serious injury among the crew members.
Findings
Investigations determined that the primary factor in the crash was the loss of engine power caused by an in-flight collision with a bird that entered the carburetor air intake.
