What happened
During an agricultural operation for a local sovkhoz, an aircraft was performing crop spraying approximately 12 km east of Labinsk. While operating at a low altitude, the pilot-in-command executed a sharp maneuver that led to a total loss of control. The aircraft entered a steep bank, reaching an angle between 50° and 60°, before impacting an open field.
The accident resulted in three fatalities, including both pilots and one passenger, who was serving as an aircraft mechanic.
Findings
Investigations into the crash determined that the primary cause was an unauthorized maneuver. The pilot-in-command attempted a turn at a low altitude using a bank angle of at least 45°, which exceeded the established safety limit of 30° for such procedures. Additionally, investigators believe that crew distraction may have contributed to the loss of control during the flight.
