What happened
On the day of the accident, an aircraft was operating in Novyi Buh to carry out agricultural spraying operations. The crew had completed multiple flight rotations throughout both the morning and afternoon periods. During a midday break, members of the crew consumed alcohol.
Following these operations, four workers from a nearby farm boarded the plane for a short local flight. Shortly after departing, the aircraft was subjected to dangerous maneuvers at a low altitude. During this sequence, the plane collided with trees, leading to an aerodynamic stall and a subsequent crash into a forested region. The impact caused the aircraft to burst into flames, resulting in the total destruction of the plane. There were six fatalities among the occupants.
Findings
Investigations determined that all six individuals on board were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Laboratory testing confirmed significant levels of intoxication, with the pilot recording a blood alcohol concentration of 2.81‰ and the co-pilot measuring 1.39‰. The crew's intoxication was a primary factor in the loss of control during flight.
