Incident Overview

A single-engine aircraft operating a cargo flight from Olenek to Amakinskaya (also known as Aykal) suffered an engine failure mid-flight. The aircraft was carrying two pilots and a load consisting of five fuel drums with a total weight of 900 kilograms.

In-Flight Emergency

While cruising at an altitude of 1,150 metres, the engine exploded and subsequently stopped. The crew decided to conduct an emergency landing in a field located 49 kilometres north of Amakinskaya-3 Airport.

Landing and Aftermath

During the landing, the aircraft struck small trees and crashed. Both pilots escaped without injury. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
