What happened
A cargo flight operating from Olenek to Amakinskaya (Aykal) experienced a critical mechanical failure during its mission. The aircraft, a single-engine airplane, was transporting a payload of five fuel drums, bringing the total takeoff weight to 900 kilograms. During the cruise phase of the flight at an altitude of 1,150 meters, the engine suffered an explosion and subsequently ceased functioning.
Following the loss of power, the crew initiated an emergency descent to locate a suitable landing site. They identified a field situated approximately 49 km north of the Amakinskaya-3 Airport for an unplanned landing. During the approach and touchdown, the aircraft made contact with small trees, leading to a crash. While the aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss, both pilots managed to exit the wreckage without any injuries.
