What happened
A flight traveling from Caracas-Maiquetía-Simón Bolívar Airport to Medellín-José María Córdova Airport (Rionegro) ended in a fatal accident near the village of Las Velas. The twin engine airplane was operating a route between Venezuela and Colombia when it lost control during the flight.
Upon losing control, the aircraft struck a pasture in the vicinity of Las Velas. The impact of the crash, followed by a subsequent fire, resulted in the total destruction of the airframe. There were two fatalities recorded as a result of the accident, with no survivors among the occupants.
Findings
