What happened
During a scheduled training operation at Saltillo-Plan de Guadalupe Airport, an aircraft was performing maneuvers when it encountered an excursion on the runway. Upon making contact with runway 17, the aircraft drifted toward the left side of the paved surface. As the plane moved off the runway, the right main landing gear was lost.
The aircraft eventually came to a stop approximately 600 meters beyond the runway threshold. While the incident resulted in the aircraft being declared a total loss due to damage beyond repair, there were no fatalities or injuries reported. All three crew members managed to evacuate the aircraft safely following the event.
Findings
Following the excursion, the primary factor identified was the aircraft's departure from the runway centerline immediately after touchdown, which led to the structural failure of the landing gear assembly.
