What happened
A cargo flight operating from Saltillo Airport to Puebla experienced a critical emergency during its transit. The flight, which was transporting 550 kilograms of various goods, was being operated by a crew consisting of two pilots. During the flight, the crew notified air traffic control of a low fuel situation and received authorization to divert to Tampico-General Francisco Javier Mina Airport.
As the aircraft was performing its final approach to the runway, both engines ceased functioning. This loss of power caused the twin engine aircraft to descend into a forested area. The impact occurred approximately 850 meters before reaching runway 31. The crash resulted in two injuries to the crew members, both of whom sustained minor wounds. The aircraft was determined to be a total loss due to the extent of the damage.
Findings
- The crew declared an emergency due to insufficient fuel levels during the flight.
