What happened
During an approach to Turtkul Airport, the flight crew encountered difficulties maintaining the correct glide path alignment. The captain initially performed a go-around procedure due to the improper alignment of the aircraft type/model (not specified in source) with the runway.
During a subsequent attempt to land, the aircraft's position remained incorrect. The pilot flew over runway 20 at an altitude of approximately 4 to 7 meters before initiating a second go-around. As the aircraft passed the end of the runway at an altitude of roughly 10 meters, the landing gear was retracted. Approximately 2 kilometers beyond the runway threshold, the aircraft struck trees and electrical power lines. The subsequent crash landing resulted in the aircraft sliding for about 130 meters before coming to a stop against an embankment.
Findings
- The aircraft was not properly aligned with the glide path during the initial approach.
- The pilot performed multiple go-around maneuvers following unsuccessful alignment attempts.
- The collision was caused by the aircraft striking trees and power cables after passing the runway end.
