Abra Group yet to assign Embraer E195-E2 order to a specific airline

Abra Group said it has not yet determined which airline within its portfolio will operate the Embraer E195-E2 aircraft it has on order, according to the company. Preparations for pilot training are already under way, the group indicated, even as the fleet assignment remains open.

A potential acquisition of Sky Airline could also widen the possible deployment options for the jets, Abra said. The group is the parent company of Gol and Avianca.

Abra firmed up an order for five E195-E2 aircraft in May and secured purchase rights for a further 45 units. According to the company, one reason for placing the order early was the chance to secure comparatively near-term delivery slots from Embraer.

The distribution of the aircraft among its airlines will be decided closer to delivery, depending on market conditions and demand, Abra said.
