ADAC ambulance service receives new Bombardier Challenger 650

ADAC Ambulanz-Service has taken delivery of a Bombardier Challenger 650 for its medical transport operations. The aircraft landed in Nuremberg last weekend, and Aero-Dienst, the operator, is preparing it for future missions, according to the organisation.

The jet will carry the registration D-ADAC. In Nuremberg its cabin is being converted for medical repatriation flights. Medical equipment and systems are being installed, and the technical fit-out adapted to the requirements of ADAC Ambulanz-Service. Tests and acceptance procedures follow before the ambulance jet can enter service.

The Challenger 650 is part of a fleet renewal at ADAC Ambulanz-Service. Within the ADAC, ADAC Luftrettung and ADAC Ambulanz-Service are two separate but closely linked medical aid organisations. The air rescue arm handles emergency helicopter operations in Germany; the ambulance service arranges worldwide repatriation of seriously ill or injured travellers.
