Air Algérie seeks foreign partners for heavy maintenance checks

Air Algérie is looking to expand its use of foreign maintenance providers for heavy checks on its aircraft. The carrier has opened an international tender process to prequalify companies capable of carrying out extensive maintenance work.

The tender covers heavy checks on Airbus A330-200 widebodies, Boeing 737-600, -700 and -800 narrowbodies, and ATR 72-500 and -600 turboprops, according to the airline.

Alongside the search for outside contractors, Air Algérie is also working on establishing its own maintenance company. According to a report from the Algerian outlet TSA Algérie, that in-house operation is expected to be set up by 2026.
