Air Greenland will begin flying between Ilulissat and Copenhagen to coincide with the opening of the town's new international airport on 29 October. The inaugural flight on the route will be operated with an Airbus A330neo.

From November, Jettime will take over the sector with a Boeing 737-800. Flights are planned mainly on Wednesdays, with additional services on selected Mondays around Christmas and New Year and in March.

From April 2027, Air Greenland is to introduce its new Airbus A320neo on the route and gradually increase the schedule to as many as six flights per week.

With the addition of Ilulissat alongside Nuuk, Greenland will have a second international hub.
