Airbus must deliver more than 100 aircraft a month for the rest of 2026 to reach its full-year target of about 870, the manufacturer said on October 8.
It handed over 72 aircraft to 37 customers in September 2026, among them Delta Air Lines, British Airways and Emirates. That is up from 57 in August 2026 and 67 in June 2026.
So far this year Airbus has delivered 547 aircraft, leaving 323 to go, or roughly 108 a month. A year earlier it delivered 507 over the same period and handed over 73 in September 2025.
One of September's deliveries was the first A320 family jet built on Airbus's second final assembly line in Tianjin, China. The A320neo went to China Eastern Airlines on September 22, 2026.
Widebody output was thinner. Airbus delivered two A330neos and three A350s last month. It says it aims to deliver about four A330neos a month, rising to five a month in 2029. The type saw no deliveries at all in June and July 2026, and a single handover to Starlux Airlines in August.
Also in September, news emerged that Airbus staff were inspecting every A330neo at its facilities over concerns about the horizontal tail plane. Reuters reported that the matter came up when a tool was found in the structure of one A330neo during a pre-delivery inspection. Airbus has since asked several airlines to carry out extra checks during routine maintenance to establish whether other aircraft are affected. In its statement, Airbus said it was asking operators to carry out those inspections.
