ST Engineering opens new Changi MRO facility with four widebody bays
ST Engineering has opened a new aircraft maintenance site at Singapore Changi Airport, adding four widebody bays and digital inspection tools. The company says the site could lift its Singapore MRO capacity for large jets by 40 percent.

ST Engineering has opened a facility at Singapore Changi Airport to maintain and overhaul commercial aircraft, the company said.
The site covers 84,000 square metres and has four maintenance bays for widebody aircraft. The company expects it to raise its Singapore capacity for maintaining such aircraft by 40 percent once fully operational, or about 100 additional aircraft a year.
Digital planning systems, robots and artificial intelligence are used at the facility, including for aircraft inspection and damage detection. Drones will also carry out visual checks.
At full utilisation the site is to employ more than 500 people. It is ST Engineering's fourth airframe maintenance facility in Singapore.
