The island destination normally handles widebody arrivals from cities including Prague and Seoul, along with smaller regional aircraft connecting it to the mainland. This jet had arrived nonstop from Mongolia, a flight of more than 2,500 miles.
Phu Quoc is known for its beaches and resorts and sees a broad mix of carriers and aircraft types, but the Mongolian visitor stood out from the usual traffic. The report places the long regional-jet sector within a wider pattern on holiday services during the winter season.
