American Airlines sues UK travel agency group over logo dispute
American Airlines and its AAdvantage loyalty subsidiary have filed a trademark claim in London against the UK travel agency organisation Advantage Travel Centres over its recently redesigned logo.

American Airlines and its subsidiary AAdvantage Loyalty IP have sued the travel agency group Advantage Travel Centres, which trades as Advantage Travel Partnership, in the United Kingdom. The dispute is over the British group's corporate logo.
City AM reported that the claim was filed at the London court that handles intellectual property matters. American Airlines appears to believe part of the recently revised logo affects its trademark rights. The carrier holds several UK trademarks, including marks covering its AAdvantage frequent flyer programme.
Advantage Travel Partnership said it was surprised by the action. The organisation said it had been waiting for a response from American Airlines and had been working towards an amicable resolution. It added that the statement of claim has not been served, so the specific allegations are not yet known.
