Austrian Airlines plans long-haul jets on Vienna-Berlin route

Austrian Airlines intends to operate Boeing 777-200ER and 787-9 aircraft on Vienna-Berlin flights during the 2026/27 winter schedule, with the first 777 service set for 25 October.

Austrian Airlines plans to fly long-haul aircraft on its Vienna-Berlin route in the 2026/27 winter schedule, according to the airline's planning reported by Aero Routes.

Both the Boeing 777-200ER and the Boeing 787-9 are to be used. The 777's first flights are scheduled for 25 October, with more deployments in November, December and February 2027.

The 787-9 is expected to enter the route for the first time in January. Between 14 January and 18 February it is planned for Thursdays on flight numbers OS225/226, alongside additional individual and regular services.

The airline notes that the schedule may still change.
