Avianca and BOC Aviation agree sale-and-leaseback for 12 A320neos

Avianca and BOC Aviation have signed a sale-and-leaseback deal for 12 Airbus A320neos. The aircraft are due for delivery in 2029 and will be powered by CFM International Leap-1A engines. According to BOC Aviation chief executive Steven Townend, pre-delivery payment financing is becoming increasingly important for airline customers as aircraft production ramps up. He noted that the lessor's significant liquidity enables it to support customers with transactions of this nature and add to its fleet of A320neos. Avianca, which is an existing BOC Aviation customer, operates an all-A320-family narrowbody fleet. The aircraft are likely part of a wider commitment by parent company Abra Group for over 100 A320neos.
