Charleroi Airport calls for talks to end Skeyes industrial action

Brussels South Charleroi Airport has criticised the latest industrial action at air navigation service provider Skeyes. The dispute, it says, is an internal labour conflict in which the airport has no part.

The disruption affects passengers, the airport's own employees, airlines and businesses based at the site, and the wider Walloon economy, according to the airport. It called on Skeyes management and union representatives to resume constructive negotiations at once and settle the matter as quickly as possible.

BSCA likened the situation to a hostage-taking. Passengers and the airport community, it argued, are carrying the consequences of a dispute they cannot influence.

The airport said its priority is to keep travellers informed and assist them, and advised passengers to follow its own channels, terminal information and updates from their airline.
