Stockholm Arlanda tops European punctuality rankings for summer

Stockholm Arlanda recorded the best on-time performance among Europe's 40 busiest airports over the summer, according to Eurocontrol data cited by operator Swedavia.

Stockholm Arlanda had the best punctuality of Europe's 40 busiest airports over the summer, according to Eurocontrol figures. From 1 June to 31 August, 82.1 percent of flights at Sweden's largest airport operated on time.

Arlanda ranked ahead of Oslo Gardermoen and Istanbul Airport. Swedavia, the airport operator, credited closer cooperation between the airport, airlines and ground-handling companies. Morning departures got particular attention, because delays early in the day can disrupt later aircraft rotations and cause knock-on delays.

Swedavia said it would keep working with its partners to hold punctuality at Arlanda and its other Swedish airports at current levels.
