Chile's consumer watchdog queries Jetsmart over nine route cuts
Chile's consumer protection agency Sernac has opened a review of Jetsmart after the airline announced it would drop nine domestic routes, and has summoned an airline representative to explain the plans for affected passengers.

Sernac, Chile's consumer protection agency, has taken an interest in Jetsmart after the carrier said it would cut nine domestic routes. An airline representative was summoned to set out the measures planned for passengers affected by the changes.
About 60 complaints have reached the agency so far, most of them about a lack of information.
Jetsmart says it will inform travellers about cancellations, refunds and rebooking options, and has announced compensation as well. According to Sernac, not all of those affected have been contacted yet.
The seasonal Balmaceda to Puerto Montt service ends on 1 December. Eight further connections will be discontinued on 1 January 2027. Jetsmart attributes the cuts to a reorganisation of its route network.
