Delta A330 Diverts to Porto After Smoke Reported in Cabin

A Delta Air Lines flight bound for Boston was rerouted to Porto, Portugal, on Sunday after smoke was reported in the cabin. Delta said the Airbus A330 was flying from Barcelona and that a mechanical issue was involved.

Portuguese authorities told Reuters that smoke had been reported onboard. Eight passengers were treated by medical staff on the taxiway at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, and three others were taken to hospital. It was not known as of Monday afternoon whether those three had been discharged.

Delta apologised for the disruption and said it was arranging for the passengers to continue to Boston.
