Eurowings A320 returns to service after smoke odour forced diversion
An Eurowings Airbus A320 that turned back to Düsseldorf shortly after take-off on 22 September has resumed commercial flying following a test flight.
An Airbus A320 flown by Eurowings went back into service on Monday morning, about a week after it returned to Düsseldorf as a precaution shortly after departure.
The jet, registered 9H-EUX, was operating flight EW9854 to Brindisi on 22 September when it turned back. The Lufthansa subsidiary said light smoke developed on board, so the crew reversed course as a precaution. Two passengers went to hospitals as a precaution, according to the airline.
It flew again on Sunday on a test flight of about 50 minutes, then re-entered scheduled operations the next morning as flight EW9750 from Düsseldorf to Vienna.
