Discover Airlines, the leisure carrier owned by Lufthansa Group, plans to enter the UK market for the first time with seasonal routes launching in 2027, according to the airline.

The carrier will start a six-times-weekly Frankfurt-Glasgow service on 29 March, followed by a Munich-Glasgow route with up to two weekly flights from 16 May. That Munich link was previously flown by Lufthansa itself.

Discover Airlines will also begin Frankfurt-Bristol flights in May, and a weekly Frankfurt-Inverness service starting 19 June.

All four routes will be operated using Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline said none of the city pairs currently has nonstop service from any other scheduled carrier.

Discover Airlines' chief commercial officer Marco Gotz said the destinations reflect rising demand for travel centred on nature, outdoor activity and culture.

The expansion adds three UK cities to Discover Airlines' network for the first time, extending the Lufthansa Group's leisure brand beyond its existing base of routes from Germany.
