Driver breaches gate at San Antonio airport after police chase
A driver fleeing police rammed through a gate at San Antonio International Airport and was arrested on the airfield. Airport and flight operations were unaffected, authorities said.
Newly released footage shows a police pursuit that ended on the grounds of San Antonio International Airport in Texas on 22 August 2026. A driver went around barriers and broke through a gate to enter the airport property.
A police vehicle followed the car onto the site. The Chrysler struck the gate and came to a stop a short distance later, damaging the car.
The driver surrendered and was taken into custody. Authorities said officers found a firearm in the vehicle. The man faces several charges, including fleeing from police, unlawful weapons possession and trespassing.
The authorities said flight and airport operations were not affected.
