An easyJet Airbus A321 flew from London Luton to Edinburgh on Friday morning after its crew reported a suspected bird strike to the nose landing gear during departure.
Flight EZY926P left Luton at 07:20 UTC for the roughly one-hour sector to the Scottish capital. About 45 minutes later, as the aircraft began its initial approach into Edinburgh, the pilots contacted air traffic control and asked for engineering staff to be ready to check the nose gear area on arrival. The crew believed a bird may have hit the assembly during the takeoff roll at Luton.
According to the report, the airline's flight characteristics and landing gear systems remained fully functional for the duration of the flight. The jet touched down on Runway 24 at Edinburgh at 09:27 local time and taxied to its stand as normal.
Maintenance engineers then carried out a visual inspection of the nose gear and the surrounding fuselage structure before clearing the aircraft. Nobody on board was hurt.
