The aircraft, a Gulfstream G100 registered C-GRJP, is operated by Latitude Air Ambulance. It lost contact with air traffic control while flying from Bermuda to Boston, where it was due to land at Logan Airport.
According to the account of the flight, the crew had completed a medical evacuation flight on Bermuda before contact was lost. Radio recordings indicate controllers asked the crew whether they were approaching "blind."
No cause for the loss of contact has been established. The Coast Guard has assigned aircraft and vessels to the search, which is continuing.
What happened to the aircraft, and the condition of those on board, remains unknown.
