easyJet denies boarding to passenger vaping on Belfast ramp
A passenger was turned away from an easyJet flight at Belfast International after refusing to stop vaping on the airfield ramp, delaying the departure to Palma de Mallorca.

An easyJet passenger was refused travel at Belfast International Airport on Sunday, October 4, 2026, after repeatedly vaping on the ramp area. The flight, U23011, was scheduled to depart for Palma de Mallorca.
Staff noticed the individual using an e-cigarette while walking across the tarmac toward the aircraft. Crew members asked the passenger to extinguish it and place it in a bin. According to the account, the passenger declined and carried on vaping.
Crew then invoked safety rules that bar vaping and smoking on ramps, jet bridges and commercial flights, and denied the passenger boarding. The airline says such breaches can lead to removal from a flight or police action after landing.
The aircraft, an Airbus A320 registered G-UZLK, pushed back from Belfast at 05:40 UTC and landed in Palma at 08:20 UTC. It arrived about 20 minutes late, a delay attributed to the disruption and the offloading process.
