Fiji Airways to serve new Western Sydney airport from March 2027
Fiji Airways will become the fourth international carrier at Western Sydney International, launching thrice-weekly flights from Nadi on 19 March 2027.
Fiji Airways will add flights to Western Sydney International Airport, with service scheduled to begin on 19 March 2027. The carrier will operate three flights per week between its Nadi hub and the new airport using Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft.
The announcement makes it the sixth airline overall to commit to the new facility, which is due to open to passenger operations on 25 October 2026. Other carriers that have announced plans to serve Western Sydney include Qantas, Jetstar, Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines and Vietjet.
Fiji Airways currently operates twice daily to Sydney Kingsford-Smith Airport and will add the new airport alongside its existing Sydney operations. Chief executive Paul Scurrah said Australia is Fiji's largest source market and the link would support tourism, trade and business travel. The airline added that the move provides a competitive advantage.
Western Sydney International chief Simon Hickey noted the region is home to more than 70% of Sydney's Fijian population.
