Former Sichuan Airlines Group chief under investigation

Chinese authorities have opened an investigation into Shi Zuyi, the former chairman of Sichuan Airlines Group, over suspected serious violations of discipline and law.

The disciplinary and supervisory commission of China's Sichuan province has opened an investigation into Shi Zuyi, the former head of Sichuan Airlines Group, on suspicion of serious violations of discipline and law. Chinese media did not immediately disclose details of the allegations.

Shi is 62. He stepped down from his leadership roles at the airline in 2024, resigning as chairman and party secretary of Sichuan Airlines Group in July. A month later he gave up the chairmanship of the operational subsidiary Sichuan Airlines Co. Ltd. and retired.
